About

I built this because I needed it too.

The story behind Touch Grass Quest, and the joke at the center of it.

My name is Bobby Lough. I run Sabi Ventures, and this is the product I built for the version of myself who has, on more than one Tuesday, opened four apps in a row without leaving the couch.

The joke of the name is the whole idea: a screen telling you to go touch grass. I am not above the joke. I am the target audience for it.

What actually gets someone off the couch is not a lecture. It is a small, specific, real reason to move: head for the biggest tree you can see, find the place two blocks over you have never noticed, do one small good deed on the way. A mission, not a suggestion.

So Touch Grass Quest generates one: a grounded, solo mission near you, built from real places, ready in under a minute. No account, no plan, no app to download. You tell it as much or as little as you want, and it sends you out.

The mission behind the mission: do something instead of defaulting to nothing. Participate in your life instead of just consuming it. That is the whole company, in one sentence.

I write about what works, and what doesn’t, at sabiventures.com.
